Education school academics present paper at ERIDOB 2018
Three members of staff from Southampton Education School represented the University at the recent ERIDOB (European Researchers in Didactics of Biology) conference, held at the University of Zaragoza, Spain, from 2nd to 6th July, 2018.
Professor Marcus Grace (who is Chair of ERIDOB), Dr Carys Hughes and Professor Janice Griffith s (both Mathematics and Science Learning Centre ), presented a paper on Students’ views on the value of protecting biodiversity, a project carried out with Education School PGCE trainees and a local secondary school. The paper was part of a wider strand on Students’ values, attitudes and decision-making, and all three colleagues also chaired related paper presentation sessions. The conference presented a valuable professional development opportunity and chance to make connections with international colleagues working in biology education research.
This was the twelfth conference of ERIDOB, and we plan to present developments of further work in 2020 in Cyprus.
