Event details

Assessing science enables teachers to track pupils' progress in order to inform future teaching and learning. With the loss of the level descriptors teachers will have to monitor and track pupil's progress in science in a different way.

This course starts with help and advice on how to do this before moving on to ideas and activities to help with Assessment for Learning (formative assessment).  Participants will have the opportunity to explore a range of Assessment for Learning techniques and strategies for confirming progress and will consider how they can be implemented in the primary classroom.

Following the course participants will be able to:

  • Know how to track pupil progress in science using curriculum 2014
  • use a range of Assessment for Learning strategies effectively to promote children's learning
  • make confident and reliable teacher assessments of science and identify children's next steps

Course Fee: Normally £130, early bird booking fee of £99 is available when booked before 1st October 2015.
