This course will help you to identify the principles, strategies and resources that can be used to design a development programme that is valued by colleagues and demonstrates impact in the classroom.

The skills you learn will support career development and increase your department's capacity to offer school-to-school support.  Networking and mutual support will enable you and your peers to explore effective ways to develop and share engaging content.  This course is designed for secondary teachers or technicians who wish to develop as professional development presenters.

Outcomes:

  • conduct appropriate needs analysis for all staff in the context of relevant frameworks e.g. Ofsted, local authorities
  • plan a programme to meet these needs which draws on a range of professional development approaches and resources; identify the particular needs of adult learners and know how to address these
  • evaluate professional development and assure its impact
