The aim of the day will be to gain confidence using the micro:bit in a fun, challenging way with your pupils. You will learn how to create simple programs, and use some fun challenges to understand how it can be used with pupils in the classroom. Aimed at primary teachers and anyone running computing, science or technology activities in a primary setting.
Content of the day:
- Introduction to the BBC micro:bit – how to easily program using it.
- Using the micro:bit to teach computing concepts in a fun and interesting way
- Look at a range of computing concepts using the micro:bit.
- Look at resources for a range of cross curricular challenges to suitall abilities.
- Attendees will be given a range of challenges to refine the skills learnt and help troubleshooting any issues arising.
Course cost £100 - Including a free micro:bit and battery pack – all you need to get started. Bring your laptop or tablet if you have one.
The workshop will use a variety of teaching resources and examples of how a micro:bit can be used to support cross-curricular activities.
