Education seminar
Inclusive research with disabled people relies on strong relationships to build shared understandings of the priorities for the research questions, methods and outcomes. Sustaining these relationships across the constraints of research and personal contexts is often challenging. As academic researchers, we have tried to address this problem in part by working with two disability advocacy organisations and disabled people within them over several years. Our joint aim was to build sustainable research relationships between individuals and institutional links between the organisations and universities. This seminar uses examples from several research and evaluation projects to examine the utility and limits of this approach.
