Jane worked for Ove Arup and Partners from 1976-1998, during which time she was Principal in Charge of Arup’s Los Angeles office (1986-88) and worked on her most notable and high-profile project – the Millennium Wheel.
Jane Wernick is a graduate of the University of Southampton, with a BSc (Honours) degree in Civil Engineering. A structural engineer with wide experience of unusual and challenging structures designed in collaboration with leading architects, she worked for Ove Arup and Partners from 1976-1998, during which time she was Principal in Charge of Arup’s Los Angeles office (1986-88) and worked on her most notable and high-profile project – the Millennium Wheel. She is now Director of Jane Wernick Associates Ltd., a practice of consulting engineers that has worked on projects covering a wide range of building types, from furniture and exhibition stands, museums, a theatre, and a library, to the extension of the cemetery island in Venice, and the Basildon Bridge over the A127.
