We use our knowledge, expertise and state-of-the-art facilities to solve your most complex engineering problems in our four engineering consultancies, known as Enterprise Units.

The Auditory Implant Service (AIS), another Enterprise Unit within the school of Engineering, helps severely to profoundly deaf adults and children in the UK.

Consultants to the marine and industrial aerodynamics sector with expertise in ship design, yacht design, small craft design, naval architecture, marine technology and industrial aerodynamics.

Research Institute for Industry

Rifi

Research Institute for Industry. Engineering consulting using cryogenics, experimental mechanics and the analysis of structures and materials in extreme environments to solve engineering problems.  

Institute of Sound and Vibration Research

ISVR Consulting

Providing consultancy and contract research in acoustics, noise, speech intelligibility, hearing and audio communication, vehicle dynamics and shock analysis.  

Auditory Implant Service

Helping severely to profoundly deaf adults, children and teenagers, our surgeons have implanted over 1,000 cochlear implants.
