The University of Southampton
EngineeringPostgraduate study

Graduate school

In addition to your academic work with your supervisory team, you will be able to develop your research, professional and transferable skills at the Graduate School. We will provide a rich training programme where you can meet and work with students and academics across the range of disciplines in Engineering.

At the outset of your studies, we run induction activities, later you will get the chance to hone your communication and presentational skills by taking part in student conferences, showcasing your research and making the most of networking opportunities. We will also cover project management, team work and many other communication skills.

On graduation, you will leave Southampton with both a postgraduate degree from the University recognised to have the most powerful engineering research in the UK (REF2014) and the interdisciplinary knowledge and skills you will need to succeed in academia or industry.
