The highlight of my time as a University of Southampton student was that I was taught by, and worked with, very distinguished professors. I also loved the vast and green campus of the University.

Can you provide a brief summary of your time at Southampton?

My time at Southampton was absolutely fantastic; I got the opportunity make lot of friends and I enjoyed studying at one of the best universities in the UK. The course structure was well balanced.

What was the highlight of your time as a Southampton student?

The highlight of my time as a University of Southampton student was that I was taught by, and worked with, very distinguished professors, and the infrastructure support was very good. I loved the vast and green campus of the University.

What did you enjoy most about your course?

I thoroughly enjoyed my course. My cohort had people from around 25 countries studying together, so I got to know about various cultures and make new friends. The University's staff were very motivating throughout the course.

What were your supervisors like? Did you find them supportive?

The supervisors were really supportive and kind. They were also very responsive when I needed to get in touch with them.

How did the facilities available at the University help you with your research and project work?

The facilities available were more than sufficient for my research and project work and I really enjoyed working in them to complete my project.

What is your current role?

I currently work for Zynergy Solar Projects & Services Private Limited as Manager of Engineering & Projects. Zynergy is a vertically integrated company offering solar energy solutions across the sector’s value chain.

In what ways does the course you took at Southampton help you within your career?

I have to thank the University of Southampton for helping me to secure the job at Zynergy. My recruitment manager was from Bournemouth, UK. He knew about the reputation of the University and it was helpful in securing the job. As I got to learn extensively about Solar Photovotaics in the course, I was able to grasp things at work with ease.

What has been your greatest career achievement so far?

At Zynergy, I was a core member of a small team. We worked on developing new and novel Solar Powered Cold Storage Containers. This product was developed in order to reduce the wastage of crops at the level of farmers. We developed this product in partnership with a German institute.

As a result of the skills and expertise I gained from my course at Southampton, I was able to optimise the designs and product to work efficiently.

What advice would you offer to potential students?

Go for it without a second thought!
