The Faculty Operating Service in Health Sciences is strategically managed by the Head of Faculty Operations (Paul Knight) and operationally managed by the Head of Business Services (William Edwards) and the Faculty Executive Officer (Bulwinder Buttar).
We work together to facilitate the smooth, effective and quality delivery of an administrative service which meets the needs of a world class faculty.
We are a focal point embedded within the organisational structure, providing professional support and advice, liaison and coordination for academics, research and student communities, and our internal and external stakeholders.
Faculty Operating Service roles and responsibilities
The service comprises of the following functional teams:
Academic Support Team
- Administrative support for Heads of Divisions, Programme Managers and Directors of Programmes
Contracts Administration Team
- Support for the discharge of NHS contractual obligations
Events, Alumni and Communications
- Co-ordination and support for faculty communications, events planning and alumni relationship development
Executive Assistant Team
- Personal administrative support for the senior faculty members
Faculty Resource Team
- Support for faculty estates and facilities, resources and services, including room and equipment booking, IT liaison, photocopying and printing, telephony etc.
Research Support Office

Administrative support for research and enterprise activities and research groups
Administrative Support
The service also provides administrative support to two academic divisions:
Division 1: Nursing, Midwifery, Health
Division 2: Allied Health Professions
