Simon Grist is a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner Course Director at the University of Southampton within Health Sciences.

CBT Therapist, Mental Health Nurse
I have worked at University for the past 10 years mainly teaching CBT, but have also taught mental health crisis / liaison, substance use and general mental health.

Prior to the University I worked within the NHS as a community mental health team manager, senior practitioner in a CMHT, senior nurse in a crisis team, medical student facilitator and substance use worker.

I have throughout this time maintained some CBT practice, with private practice, supervision and consultancy

Research interests

Low Intensity CBT

Inflammation and depression

Physical activity as a health intervention

I am currently the Co-Chair on the British Psychological Societies Accreditation Committee for PWP programmes.

I have been part of a number of national committee and workgroups around IAPT

I am an Academic Integrity Office within the Faculty
