A summary of the latest news and intelligence from around the Faculty.

  • The University's work with Microsoft's Kinect for Xbox 360, in partnership with Roke Manor Research, has been covered by CNN following an interview with Dr Cheryl Metcalf about her work in creating a prototype rehabilitation tool for stroke sufferers.
  • Congratulations to Dr Lesley Collier, Dr Lisa Roberts, Dr Catherine Bowen, Susan Latter and Dr Jo Adams who have all been appointed as research mentors to the recently launched National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) mentorship scheme. Look out for a further news announcement soon.
  • The Faculty is to host an exciting launch of No Limits | Re-Imagining Life with Dementia © Educational Resource at the Turner Sims on 6th September. Inspired by research on dementia activism undertaken by Dr Ruth Bartlett (University of Southampton), the event will showcase a specially commissioned film by Anne Milne, a set of postcards depicting 'protest banners' and a new educational resource intended to raise awareness about the diverse needs and rights of people with dementia, including younger people.
