The Wessex HIEC Partnership launches an online resource for sharing evidence-based practice and innovations in healthcare

Published: 6 September 2012

The Wessex HIEC Partnership has today launched Wessex Innovation Resources (WIRES) www.wessexhiecpartnership.org.uk enabling healthcare professionals and other users across the region access to its health related innovations, video content and other resources.

The aim of the website is to promote and share new ideas and developments in health and health improvement for the Wessex area.

Hosted by Health Sciences at the University of Southampton, the HIEC Partnership collaborates with healthcare professionals, academics, clinicians and managers across health and care organisations to accelerate the adoption of good ideas and improvements surrounding evidence-based practice.

The Wessex HIEC also aims to identify efficiency savings in public health and healthcare services, such as reducing hospital admissions for asthma patients through the spread of good practice in improving inhaler use.

Wessex Innovation Resources (WIRES) is the latest development which brings together a collection of knowledge resources including key findings from the HIEC Partnership's project innovations, case studies, video offering insight from healthcare professionals and patients, and document downloads providing more detailed information and analysis.

Programme Director, Chris Hawker comments: "We're very excited to be bringing together all of the HIEC Partnership experience and providing a specialist health resource for our community.  This will also be a key foundation for future developments in innovation and improvement in healthcare for our region."

Over the coming months, the HIEC will be adding to its resources with products such as educational toolkits and apps, updates about its activities and events across its social media channels.

Along with its partners, the Wessex HIEC will continue to promote knowledge transfer and the sharing of good practice for local developments across health and care organisations.
