Following the news that we were identified as an example of best practice in the Clwyd Report, we also appeared within an article on the report in the Nursing Standard last week. Dean of Health Sciences, Jessica Corner, is quoted in the article, outlining the use of the forum theatre method in teaching our students. The article begins on page 14 of volume 28 of the publication.

Congratulations to Mary-Jane Baker who was recently awarded with an MSc with MERIT in Advancing Health Care Practice. Mary-Jane completed an outstanding dissertation on Education Evaluation linked to her considerable educational practice expertise which she will now continue to take forward within the Faculty. Very well done Mary-Jane!

Congratulations also go to Diane Gow who has successfully achieved her LLM (Master of Laws) with COMMENDATION! Drawing on the expertise she has personally developed in clinical practice related legal issues Diane undertook a critique of the use of Gross Negligence Manslaughter in cases of Medical Error. An impressive achievement!

A research paper by Ruth Bartlett on The Emergent Modes of Dementia Activism has been selected for the Dementia online special collection . Utilising data obtained from ‘activists' with dementia Ruth's paper considers the emergent modes of dementia activism in the context of the social movement literature, and in particular, work emphasising the role of networks in health social movements.

The film Ruth Bartlett commissioned with Caroline Hick called ‘Agnes & Nancy' and directed by Anne Milne is showing on the Community Channel on Wednesday 20 th November at 9pm. The film features the friendship of two women living with dementia and was screened in the Faculty last year.
