The new Innovative and Essential Care Research Group website is now live, providing a showcase home for our world class research.  The three related research areas span the development, evaluation and implementation of high quality care interventions and innovative health services. www.soton.ac.uk/iec.

Congratulations to Mrs Jessica Comper and Dr Catherine Pope who have been given awards from the VC's office in recognition of their work on the Faculty's REF2014 submission.  The winning categories were ‘I made an IMPACT on REF 2014' and ‘Most Meticulous Submission' respectively. Health Sciences IMPACT case studies are now available on our website.

Lean In, backed by ECS Athena Swan, is a not for profit organisation founded by the female COO of Facebook which aims to offer women inspiration and support to help achieve their goal.

A kick-off event is being held on the 5th February in room 1015 in the EEE(32) building at 1500 where you can hear more about Lean In and how you can get involved. Students and staff are welcome, both males and females.

The British Science Association Media Fellowships scheme is open to all practising researchers and offers a free professional development opportunity at a media outlet such as the BBC, the Guardian and The Times. This scheme aims to better equip researchers to handle media enquiries, turn their research into news and improve communication skills that benefit teaching, journal articles and grant applications.
