Southampton Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease study day

On the 22nd May the Southampton team hosted a paediatric IBD study day for the region. We had a day of talks ranging from clinical cases to research topics to extremes of IBD in children and young people, supported by members of the paediatric, adult and dietetic teams. Over 50 people attended from across Wessex, alongside generous support from CCUK, CiCRA, Abbvie, Nutricia, Dr Falk and NAPP.

The day was organised by clinical nurse specialist Rachel Russell and research fellow Dr. James Ashton. It was a huge success with delegates learning about the latest research at Southampton, some of the successes we have had alongside what we are hoping for the future. We look forward to hosting another study day in the future to keep our wider regional team involved and enthused about making care and treatment better for our PIBD patients and families.
