Translational neuroimaging: from research to the clinics

Translational neuroimaging

This module will showcase the collaboration between the University of Southampton and University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) in translational neuroimaging research.

The objective is to excite students about opportunities that exist to use advanced neuroimaging techniques (MRI, SPECT, PET) and analysis methods to answer key clinical research questions. We’ll explain the research journey from image acquisition to data analysis/quantification and eventually to clinical translation and explore the challenges and solutions at each stage.

Can I take part if have no programming experience/skills at all?

No prior knowledge of programming is required for attending this module. You will gain some experience and understanding of how programming is applied in neuroimaging to address different questions in clinical research.

This module is supported by the ReproNim (Reproducible Neuroimaging) Center and is led by Dr Yukai Zou, ReproNim/INCF Training Fellow and Research Fellow in Advanced Neuroimaging at University of Southampton and University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

Instructors: Nathan Huneke (Teaching Assistant), Mobeen Ali, Angela Darekar, Chris Everitt, James Leighs, Sofia Michopoulou, Aravinthan Varatharaj, Yukai Zou.
