Brand new Mathematical Sciences Student Centre to open in October

Work has begun on a new Mathematical Sciences Student Centre as a home for undergraduates at the Mathematical Sciences department at the University.
Replacing the 1960 built common room the new space will house dedicated workshop space, a café, high quality audio visual facilities and a pair of bookable revision pods featuring smart boards and wireless networking.
Designed with mathematics students in mind the new space will host events throughout term, including a number of careers advice sessions and the weekly, and very popular, First Year Mathematics Workshop.
Prof. Graham Niblo , Head of Mathematical Sciences said “We are delighted at this important investment from the University Student Centredness Fund. It will provide a new home for our students, and a focus for the many ways we support them. We look forward to working with them as together we develop new ways of teaching and learning.”
