Brand new Mathematical Sciences Student Centre to open in October
Work has begun on a new Mathematical Sciences Student Centre as a home for undergraduates at the Mathematical Sciences department at the University.
Replacing the 1960 built common room the new space will house dedicated workshop space, a café, high quality audio visual facilities and a pair of bookable revision pods featuring smart boards and wireless networking.
Designed with mathematics students in mind the new space will host events throughout term, including a number of careers advice sessions and the weekly, and very popular, First Year Mathematics Workshop.
Prof. Graham Niblo, Head of Mathematical Sciences said “We are delighted at this important investment from the University Student Centredness Fund. It will provide a new home for our students, and a focus for the many ways we support them. We look forward to working with them as together we develop new ways of teaching and learning.”
