Speaker information
Dr Silvia Toonen, University of Amsterdam, Netherlands. I am currently a Veni-fellow in Astronomy based at the Anton Pannekoek Institute in Amsterdam, as well as spending part of my time at the Theoretical Astrophysics Center at the University of California, Berkeley. I received my PhD from the Radboud University in Nijmegen under the supervision of Gijs Nelemans. After which I went to Leiden Observatory to work with Simon Portegies Zwart. I have a background in the formation and evolution of binary stars, and in recent years have expanded into studying the role of triple star systems.
