Adam Booker MSc Operational Research, 2014

Ministry of Justice

Hi, I'm Adam Booker and I studied MSc Operational Research within Mathematical Sciences at the University of Southampton.

I left a job as a research scientist to embark on the MSc, as Operational Research appealed to me as the perfect way to combine mathematics and creative problem solving in a less isolated environment, with exciting prospects.

I think the masters has excellent value through its diversity. It provides strong foundations for many career paths in different industries and is well-suited to anyone seeking to apply analytical skills to answer complicated questions. Furthermore, the three-month project in industry gives you invaluable experience - I worked with National Express developing an analytical tool to evaluate and optimise some of its routes.

I am now working as an analyst in the Ministry of Justice, based in London.
