PhD open day in mathematics

Are you interested in a PhD in Mathematical Sciences at a prestigious, research-led University?

Come to one of our PhD open days.

You will have the opportunity to visit the Mathematics department,
meet our staff and current PhD students, and hear presentations on our
PhD programmes and on the research projects on offer. These span all areas of Mathematical Sciences: Applied Mathematics, Operational Research, Pure Mathematics, Statistics and Theoretical Physics.

We have a number of full studentships available for UK/EU applicants (3 years of funding consisting of full fees, approximately £1,000 per year of travel money and a tax free stipend of approximately £13,500 per year). Non UK/EU applicants who have partial funding of their own may apply for a top-up studentship. We also offer "Mayflower" scholarships: successful applicants will be funded for four years and will be required to spend 25% of their time teaching undergraduates.

Who should come?

Anyone interested in postgraduate research in mathematical sciences: applied mathematics, operational research, pure mathematics, statistics and theoretical physics. Those studying for physics or engineering degrees and who wish to undertake postgraduate research in a relevant interdisciplinary or mathematical area are also encouraged to attend.

You need to have a degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics or other mathematically intensive subjects.

For more information about independently visiting, please contact the
postgraduate administrator using the >online form.

For more information on open days, visit the Postgraduate Open Day
of the School.
