New journal, 'The International Journal of English as a Lingua Franca'

Professor Jennifer Jenkins has, along with Barbara Seidlhofer at the University of Vienna and Anna Mauranen at the University of Helsinki, had a proposal accepted by the Berlin publisher Mouton de Gruyter for a new journal, The International Journal of English as a Lingua Franca.

The three will be joint editors of the journal, which will be launched in 2011 at the 4th International Conference of English as a Lingua Franca in Hong Kong, and the AILA (Association Internationale de Linguistique Appliquee) conference in Beijing.

Jennifer has also had a change in title for her chair to Chair of Global Englishes, to reflect her major contribution to this field.
