Mr Daniel Palmer BA, CELTA, MA
Postgraduate Research Student
Mr Daniel Palmer is a postgraduate research student within Modern Languages and Linguistics at the University of Southampton.
I am a full-time English Teacher for the Ministry of Education in Abu Dhabi. I completed my BA in Philosophy at the University of Northampton in 2005, and worked for the UK government before gaining a CELTA in 2011. I then taught English at state schools and universities in Thailand, South Korea and China, before completing my MA in Applied Linguistics for Language Teaching at the University of Southampton in 2018, where I completed a dissertation which researched the efficacy of homestay programmes for second language learning.
Starting in 2020, I have been a distance PhD Researcher in Modern Languages at the University of Southampton. My postgraduate research is based around the Raizal people of San Andrés y Providencia, and the forces shaping their language use.
