Mr. Nizamuddin Sadiq is a PhD Candidate within Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics, Faculty of Humanities, University of Southampton.

I am a government employee teaching English at English Education Study Program, Universitas Islam Indonesia. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta in 2000, majoring in English Education, and gained my Master’s in English Linguistics from Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta in 2007. I am now pursuing my Ph.D. in University of Southampton, UK, majoring in Applied Linguistics for English Language Teaching.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta in 2000, majoring in English Education.

Master’s in English Linguistics from Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta in 2007.

Research interests

English as a Lingua Franca, Multilingualism with English, EMI, Language Idiologies, and Formula 33-based learning English

Title: The use of English and multilingual practices in EMI settings in Indonesian universities.

This research aims at exploring three fundamental aspects that are teachers’ understanding of, teachers’ attitude toward, and teacher’s actual use of English and multilingual practices in the context of EMI in Indonesian HEIs.
