Undergraduate scholarship awards

Published: 16 March 2012

40 undergraduate Ocean and Earth Science students have been presented with scholarships to reward academic achievement in Geology, Geophysics, Marine Biology and Oceanography subjects.

We aim to attract students of the highest calibre who will benefit from, and contribute to, the top-quality education on offer in Ocean and Earth Science. We are keen to recognise and reward high levels of academic excellence, and offer progression scholarships to those who have performed particularly well in the previous year of their programme of study or during their A levels prior to starting at the University.

We have recently presented scholarships to 40 students to commend their academic achievement. Scholarships range from between £500 and £1500 dependent on year of entry, and reward the best aggregate marks achieved by students on their respective degree programmes.

Dr Duncan Purdie, Director of Programmes, at Ocean and Earth Science says: “We are pleased to be able to offer these awards to support our students as they progress through their degree – we feel this scheme provides an additional incentive to aim for high achievement, and rewards students’ commitment to their subject. Our congratulations to all those who received Ocean and Earth Science scholarships this year.”
