Getting you ready for the global job market with a great student experience
As world leaders in research and education, we seek to provide better understanding of our dynamic planetary system alongside addressing key societal challenges in the Ocean and Earth sciences. The quality of staff and facilities at our unique waterfront campus, based at the National Oceanography Centre Southampton (NOCS), enable us to recruit top-level researchers and educators from around the world working within the areas of geochemistry, geology and geophysics, marine biogeochemistry, marine biology and ecology, palaeoceanography and palaeoclimate and physical oceanography.
Through undergraduate degree programmes in oceanography, marine biology, geology, geophysics and environmental geoscience our students have access to research vessels, cutting-edge technology and facilities and opportunities for fieldwork and scientific cruises not available in standard university environments. At postgraduate level, our long-established MSc in Oceanography is internationally respected as taught programme for researchers wishing to transfer into a career in marine science.
