Science and Engineering Festival 2019 will be taking place on Saturday 16th March on both Highfield and Boldrewood campuses.

The Southampton Science & Engineering Festival (SOTSEF), including Science & Engineering Day, is back for 2019 with more exciting hands-on activities, shows, demonstrations, talks and tours!

This year the Southampton Science & Engineering Festival (SOTSEF) will run from 8 March 2019, culminating in Science and Engineering Day on Saturday 16 March 2019.

Science & Engineering Day is a completely free event, but booking your place(es) in advance will help to manage numbers.

The festival is now organised by the Public Engagement with Research unit who also organise the Human Worlds Festival and are responsible for a number of other engagement events between researchers and the public.

Activities from Ocean and Earth Science will be housed in the Lloyd's Register building on Boldrewood campus and include:

  • Black Sea Maritime Archaeology Project
  • Boats! Boats! Boats! with Lloyd's Register
  • Detecting Earthquakes
  • Hampshire & IoW Wildlife Trust
  • Hunting Bubbles
  • Nature and Biodiversity Hub
  • Polar Puzzles: a System on Thin Ice
