A conference organised by the Parkes Institute for the Study of Jewish/non-Jewish relations, University of Southampton and the Kaplan Centre for Jewish Studies and Research at the University of Cape Town. An event in memory of David Cesarani.

Event Information

The conference will feature a host of international speakers on a variety of topics relating to the concept of the ‘Port Jew’ and representations of this figure from Monday 22nd May to Tuesday 23rd May 2017.

Venue:

All sessions are to take place in the Library Conference Room, Level 4, Hartley Library, University of Southampton.

Conference Fees:

Delegate fee of £55 includes the conference, refreshments and lunch on both days, but does not include the Evening Activity fee. As spaces are limited, this will be on a first come first serve basis.

The Evening Activity fee of £25 for Monday night includes a tour of Southampton visiting places with readings relating to the theme of the ‘Port Jew’, followed by dinner in town. This can be purchased alongside or separate to the Day Delegate fee and includes transportation from the campus to the town.
