Professorships for Denis McManus and Alex Neill

Published: 14 June 2012

Philosophy is very pleased to congratulate Denis McManus and Alex Neill on their recent promotions to Professors.

These promotions are in recognition of Denis’s and Alex’s internationally-recognised research profiles, their commitment to teaching and learning, and their contributions to the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Humanities and University of Southampton.

Denis’s research focuses primarily on the works of Heidegger and Wittgenstein, and from October 2012 he will be Head of Philosophy at Southampton. Alex’s principal area of research expertise is aesthetics and its history, and he is presently Associate Dean of the Faculty of Humanities.

These promotions are richly deserved. Congratulations!
