Philosophy research Highly Commended in the 2018 Times Higher Education Awards
We are delighted to announce that “The Philosophy of Pregnancy, Birth, and Early Motherhood”, a project led by Philosophy colleagues Fiona Woollard and Elselijn Kingma, has been Highly Commended in the 2018 Times Higher Education Awards for Research Project of the Year (Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences).
Elselijn and Fiona lead the project team, which includes the postdocs Alex Geddes, Jonathan Grose, Anne-Sophie Meincke, and Suki Finn (whose article formed part of the case for support), as well as postgraduate researchers, Ziggy Schilpzand and Teresa Baron.
The project was kick-started by a grant of around £6K from the University's Adventures in Research Scheme. It has since attracted more than a million pounds in funding from the ERC, the ESRC, the Templeton Foundation, and numerous smaller awards from various subject associations.
