Paul Smith from S3RI has been appointed as the Discussion Papers Editor for the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society.
Discussion Meetings are the new name for the RSS's Ordinary Meetings, and over the years many of the most significant developments in statistical methodology have been presented at such meetings. Discussion Meetings are now handled through a Discussion Meetings Committee, and Paul is its secretary in his new role, with Robin Henderson (Newcastle University) as the chair. The new structure is aimed at broadening the scope of Discussion Meetings for the RSS.
