Research project: Bayesian disclosure risk estimation

Currently Active:
Yes

The facility for Bayesian methods to provide inference statements as probabilities makes such methods attractive for computing disclosure risk summaries.

Research at S3RI has included developing Bayesian model averaging methodology to provide coherent estimates of predictive disclosure risk for large categorical data releases.

Research, funded by the Office for National Statistics, has also been undertaken into the use of Bayesian methods to assess disclosure risk associated with the use of rounding as a disclosure control mechanism for categorical data
