Sociology seminar
The talk will revolve around the changing context of youth transitions in the crisis, and will be informed by the evidences from comparative researches and from an in-depth analysis of youth transitions conducted in England, Italy and Sweden. The discussion will show that inequality is increasing among young people as a result of the over-reliance and unavailability of family and labour market sources during austerity.
Speaker information
Lorenza Antonucci , University of the West of Scotland. Lorenza Antonucci is Lecturer in Social Policy at UWS (University of the West of Scotland). She has co-edited “Young People and Social Policy in Europe” (Work and Welfare in Europe Series, Palgrave). Lorenza sits in the editorial board of the academic magazine Discover Society and her forthcoming book is “The real lives of students: Youth, austerity and inequality” (Policy Press, 2015).
