Here's a few simple suggestions for being sustainable:

Get involved in some of our events to raise awareness of sustainability and make a difference to our practises on campus
At home:
Donate unwanted stuff to charity - or have them collected at a 'Recycle on Your Doorstep' event. Alternatively, swap it at one of our Swap Shop events during the year and get something new for free!
Buy food that's locally-sourced, organic and in season. Check the labels to ensure you're buying Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance Certified products.

Visit the cafes, shops and cultural highlights identified on the Live My City map - helping you to find the best local offerings in Winchester and Southampton
Visit the John Hansard gallery on campus - it's free and has some great cultural exhibitions.
Support local music venues such as Talking Heads, The Soul Cellar, The Brook, The Hobbit and The Joiners.
Save money by visiting the Union Films cinema on campus.
Show your support to our societies and see some great performances from our students.

In your days off:
For a fun day out visit Marwell Zoo - it's reachable by train and bus, and part of your entrance fee goes towards conservation projects.
Take a picnic to the New Forest, or hire bikes in Lyndhurst, Beaulieu or Brokenhurst.
