Event details

Sanitation is one of the most basic human rights, yet 1 in 3 of the world’s population don’t have a toilet. This leaves them susceptible to disease and raises problems especially for female dignity and safety. To raise awareness of this, the University of Southampton WaterAid Society in conjunction with World Toilet Day (19th Nov) have come up with the ‘Squatting Comfortably? Challenge’.

This is purely an awareness campaign. They are not expecting any of your money, just your support.

The aim is to bring this issue to the forefront, encouraging work and future support in this area.

How can you take part?
Between 15th-22nd of November, change your profile picture to the best, most creative squatting picture you can, adding the description to your photo that we have pinned to the ‘Southampton WaterAid’ Facebook Page.

Imagination is key here as the best ones will win a range of free prizes everyday throughout the week.

Help this to go viral around the university. Imagine if over 1000 people changed their profile photos! Please get squatting!
