Event details

The Higher Education Academy (HEA) and the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) invite you to be part of an important consultation event for the development of a new QAA and HEA Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Guidance Document, to be published in early 2014.

This one-day consultation event will focus on the development of the forthcoming QAA/HEA ESD Guidance Document to assist staff in higher education institutions with the implementation of ESD in courses and across the curriculum. The HEA is seeking to gain direct feedback, ideas, and suggestions for improvement from academics and students from across the higher education sector.

Please note, this event is not aimed solely at ESD experts. The HEA are especially keen for non-ESD practitioners to contribute to the consultation process.

This free event has restricted numbers due to the nature of the consultation workshops so please book your place in advance through the link.

This work will form an important contribution to the advancement of ESD in higher education as it will be published by QAA and HEA. The intention is to produce practical guidance that can be used by higher education providers wishing to work with students to foster their skills in this area. The emphasis is on an outcomes-based framework, which will inform rather than constrain curricula. Colleagues should note that this new guidance will not form an explicit part of the Quality Code but rather will sit alongside it, serving an enhancement function.
