Professor Joanne Roberts - ‘The Economics of Luxury: Intellectual Property, Law, Knock-Offs, and The Potential Impact of Brexit’
Professor Joanne Roberts, Director of Research and Professor in Arts and Cultural Management, Director of the Winchester Luxury Research Group, Winchester School of Art, chaired the Policy-UK Forum on ‘The Economics of Luxury: Intellectual Property, Law, Knock-Offs, and The Potential Impact of Brexit’ in London on Thursday 30th March 2017.
The forum focused on three key areas: the impact of counterfeit goods and brand infringement; the implications of Brexit on the sales of British brands and shopping tourism; and, the government and industry priorities for supporting the manufacture and trading of British luxury goods. The forum facilitated discussion on the importance of the luxury industry in the UK and the ways to ensure the valuable sector continues to grow.
