Jonathan Faiers - Is Luxury Sustainable? @ the Design Museum
WLRG Co-Director, Professor Jonathan Faiers, will be one of a panel discussing the question 'Is Luxury Sustainable?' at the Design Museum on Tuesday 27th February, from 18.30.
What to expect:
Luxury brands are rapidly expanding in societies across the globe. With this expansion, luxury is becoming increasingly accessible and losing its exclusivity. But did exclusivity provide us with a more sustained model of consumption – producing less but for longer?
At a time when environmental, economic and social risks are increasing and our global resources under threat, questioning the concept of luxury feels more important than ever.
Chaired by curator and academic Jana Scholze, this talk brings together, designers and social thinkers for a discussion about luxury, design and sustainability.

Other speaks will include artist and architect, Kate Davies, plus Reader in Sociology, Jo Littler.
