Over-50s populations in South to rise

Dr Athina Vlachantoni was recently invited to comment on a BBC News Story concerning the Office for National Statistic's projections of median age.

Athina noted that in a time of austerity the growing number of older people in the population could lead to greater pressure on services, however not all older people require council services moreover, one third of people over 65 currently provide care to another family member.
