An online Masters degree in English Language Teaching is being launched worldwide thanks to a collaboration between the University of Southampton and the British Council.

The University of Southampton is opening its doors this year to students from around the world. A unique International Summer School will introduce them to the best of British culture with classes in English Literature, Film Studies, History and Music, visits to historic places and vibrant cities including London and Bath and organised social events.

It was prompted by a report from the Confederation of British Industry claiming that exports are being held back by a lack of language skills among British business people.

Almost 98 per cent of graduates with degrees in modern languages from Southampton are in work or further study after six months after leaving university, an increase from 87 per cent in 2011, according to the latest Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey.
