MICA Conference 2022
The Department of Digital & Data-Driven Marketing , concluded a highly successful co-hosted virtual conference with MICA, India ( ICMC 2022 ) in January. The conference spanned 4 days with a full day dedicated to doctoral colloquium. It was well attended with 709 registrations and 643 attendees from across 4 continents.
Senior Southampton colleagues, including Professor Jane Falkingham, Professor Laura Costanzo and Professor Paurav Shukla were all involved in facilitating the conference programme with the MICA senior management team.
Opening and closing keynotes were delivered by Lord Kamlesh Patel of Bradford and Professor Jaideep Prabhu at the University of Cambridge.
FSS ADI Dr. Rob Angell and Prof. Jaywant Singh co-chaired the event, with several other department colleagues also taking part. Dr. Carmen Lopez and Dr. Phil Megicks acted as co-conveners of doctoral colloquium. Many other colleagues acted as session chairs and reviewers including Dr. Tugra Akarsu, Dr. Steve Chen, Dr. Youngseok Choi, Dr. Fenfang Lin, Dr. Hongfei Liu, Dr. Paul Williams and Dr. Weisha Wang.
Professor Sabu Padmadas and Amarjit Singh offered continuous support from the India Centre, and Dr. John McAleer from Southampton's History department delivered a virtual tour of the old and the new Southampton to conference participants.
MICA co-chair Dr. Dharun Kasilingam analysed the attendance figures, concluding that the total engagement was 6999 hours or equivalent to 9 months and 18 days worth of individual engagement. There were more than 30 corporate participants including several C-suite members who engaged in engrossing panel discussions.
