I enjoyed the real life case studies and the opportunity to relate what we learned in the classroom to real situations in the working world.

Why did you choose to come and study at Southampton?

I checked the different business school rankings in the area where I live and found that the University of Southampton had one of the highest. The MBA modules were also of interest to me.

What were your highlights at Southampton?

The one week orientation was a time to bond with a new team and get to know my classmates outside of a class setting.

What did you enjoy most about the Southampton MBA?

I enjoyed the real life case studies and the opportunity to relate what we learned in the classroom to real situations in the working world.

What have been the highlights of your career to date?

Working in different industries (energy and healthcare) and interacting with diverse people. Getting onto the NHS General Management Trainee Scheme has provided the opportunity for a career in healthcare leadership.

How did your time at Southampton help you to grow as a person and develop your career?

It helped me develop the ability to be resilient and adaptable. I had to keep pushing and learning new things to get to where I am now, and I also learned to change my way of doing things if my methods are not working. In addition, my time at Southampton prepared me to work in the UK.

What advice would you offer to someone looking to study the Southampton MBA programme?

Learning takes place inside and outside the classroom, so take the opportunities presented to go outside of your comfort zone and learn new skills that could turn out to be useful in your career. Have fun while you are at it, too, but don't lose sight of the goalpost.
