Forage (previously called Inside Sherpa) is a virtual experience which allows you to gain business skills and insight into industry from top employers, all from the comfort of your home.

These easily accessible online experiences have been developed by top graduate recruiters that directly mirror real-life work within their organisation. With simulated projects and tasks, you will get an in-depth understanding of what projects you'd complete and what skills you need if you worked at the organisation.

There's no need to apply, simply create an account and access the virtual experiences which interest you most. All experiences are free of charge for University of Southampton students and you could potentially be recognised by recruiters at top compaines on the Forage platform.

  • Simply create an account by visiting the Forage website
  • Once your account is created, you can complete a range of modules and tasks from companies of your choice
  • Watch and learn from accessible video instructions from employees
  • Curated resources are designed to help you complete tasks
  • Once completed, you can submit your work and unlock real life examples from employees that work with your chosen organisations
  • Upon completion of each programme you’ll receive a personalised certificate as proof of your achievement

These courses take 6-8 hours to complete; you can do it in your own time and can complete as many programmes as you like. Each course is there to help you to build practical skills by completing tasks similar to those you would undertake during an internship. You can complete these courses without any application process, and upon completion, you will receive a certificate and can add the experience to your CV and LinkedIn.
