MSc Studentships: Synthetic Organic Chemistry

Published: 1 May 2012

Southampton Chemistry has been awarded a number of MSc studentships to support collaborative projects in the area of synthetic organic chemistry. Available projects cover organic synthesis in its broadest sense and include the synthesis of bioactive natural products, synthetic methodology, organometallic chemistry, flow chemistry and medicinal chemistry.

This is an exciting opportunity for candidates to participate in a multi-centre collaborative European research and training programme between the Universities of Southampton, Caen, Le Havre, Rouen and UEA.  The M.Sc. programme includes taught and research components, a 2-3 month placement in a partner laboratory in France and topical workshops/conferences with an industrial focus.  Successful candidates may also have the opportunity to transfer directly to our doctoral programme if follow-up funding is secured.

These studentships are open to EU and UK nationals only.  Candidates should have first class or 2:1 degrees in Chemistry, or a recognised equivalent.

For informal enquiries related to this project contact Professor David Harrowven, Professor Richard Brown or Dr Bruno Linclau.

For application details contact Mrs Chun Borodzicz, Postgraduate Admissions Administrator.
