What is Confucius China Studies Program (CCSP)?

  1. Set up by CI Headquarters (HANBAN) in 2013.
  2. With the purpose of enhancing the growth of Sinology and China studies.
  3. With the purpose of Promoting the sustainable development of Confucius Institute and enhancing the friendship between Chinese people and people of other countries.
  4. In collaboration with 16 top Chinese universities and lead scholars in the fields of humanities and social sciences
  5. Provide excellent resources to China studies students and researchers.

How many subprograms does the CCSP include?

CCSP include six subprograms:

 
Language proficiency requirements for CCSP applicants

The two Ph.D. programs require a certain level of Chinese proficiency. The Ph.D. in China Fellowship requires a HSK Level 5 Certificate; the Joint Research Ph.D. Fellowship gives a priority to applicants who achieved high scores in HSK test.

Other subprograms in principle have no language requirement.

Requirements for applicants’ specialties or fields

Academic programs (the two Ph.D. fellowships Understanding China Visiting Scholar Fellowship, International Conference Grant and Publication Grant, etc. ) accept applicants who focus on sinology and China studies related subjects.

Non-academic programs (the Understanding China Short-term Visit Fellowship, Young Leaders Fellowship, etc.) do not have specific requirements for occupations or specialties of applicants.

In which Chinese universities can international Ph.D. students and scholars study for degrees or do joint research?

Doctorate applicants are welcome to apply for the 16 renowned universities such as Peking University and Fudan University, and over 900 professors participate in the CCSP programs as supervisors (please see the official website for the supervisors list).

Promote CCSP programs to our host university (Xiamen University)

Write recommendation letters for excellent students and scholars, it will help applicants to get priority in competition.
