Morning Session: Screening and Q&A with Filmmaker
Last Exit to Kai Tak (dir. Mr. Matthew Torne, 2018) This documentary film weaves together the stories and interactions of five Hong Kong activists and their friends in Hong Kong in a post-Umbrella Movement period. With astonishing fluidity, it portrays these individuals as they come to terms with life. The film has been shown at different film festivals across the world, e.g. the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival in South Korea, the Hong Kong Independent Film Festival in Hong Kong, and One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival in the Czech Republic. |

|
In addition, we are proud to host a research screening of Dr Kiki Tianqi Yu’s award-winning documentary film, China’s Van Goghs (dir. Mr. Haibo Yu and Dr Kiki Tianqi Yu, 2016) plus Q&A with Dr Yu, after the roundtable discussion. This research screening is specially for staff members and students at the University of Southampton, and all the invited guests of this day event.
