University Support

First Support

Part of Enabling Services, First Support is a team dedicated to supporting students who may be facing difficulty – this includes people who have experienced or been affected by rape, sexual assault, or harassment. Meeting with a Practitioner from the team is a chance to talk things through and explore what further support might be helpful; we can offer these appointments face-to-face, over the phone or via Skype.

Email the team at firstsupport@soton.ac.uk

Enabling Services Drop-In

The Drop-In sessions are an opportunity to meet with an Advisor without an appointment to learn more about the support on offer within the University and in the wider community. Each session is approximately 10-15 minutes so is best used as a place to gather information, raise concerns about a friend, or take the first step to accessing support. Upon arrival, check-in at the Enabling Services Front Desk and they will direct you to the appropriate waiting area (you do not have to disclose your reason for visiting at the Front Desk).
Be aware that the Drop-In waiting area can get quite busy so you may prefer to contact us via phone or email using the First Support details listed above.
Term-time: Monday to Friday 1300 to 1500 in the Student Services Centre (Building 37)
Vacation: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 1300 to 1500
