Dr Olufemi Ajayi is a Visiting Fellow within Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton.

Femi graduated with a BSc. in Civil Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana in 2009. He then went on to complete an MSc with distinction in Geotechnical engineering from the University of Birmingham in 2010. Shortly afterwards, Femi started his PhD at the University of Southampton with sponsorship from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research council (EPSRC) and the Faculty of Engineering and the Environment in 2011.

In 2009, Femi worked briefly with GPO Ingeneiria. S.A. in their Barcelona office. Prior to this, he undertook various Engineering attachment jobs with consultants and a geotechnical engineering company in Nigeria.

Femi’s research interests are mainly in the area of experimental soil mechanics particularly in granular materials. He is also involved in the development and implementation of bespoke and DIC methods of measurements on laboratory specimens. He has been involved in laboratory tests related to pavement materials and other soil-structure interaction.
