Visiting Researcher
Rachael is a Visiting Researcher within the Transportation Research Group at the University of Southampton.
Rachael's primary research interest areas are cognitive psychology - specifically attention and memory, and Human Factors.
Her PhD research focuses on the impact of experience and familiarity in the allocation of attention and hazard identification in driving, specifically focusing the changes that occur in learner drivers over their time spent learning to drive.
Prior to joining the University of Southampton in January 2020, Rachael has worked as a Research Assistant for the University of the Sunshine Coast (Australia) and the Australian Catholic University. She has also worked in teaching roles at ACU, USC, the University of Southern Queensland (Australia), and the University of Otago, New Zealand.
