Leading academic shares twin town expertise on BBC programme
An interview with Dr Nick Clarke has recently been aired in the East Midlands as part of a feature piece about town twinning.
The BBC Inside Out programme looked to
Dr Clarke
to share his expertise as the leading UK expert on town twinning.
Dr Clarke conducted a two year study of
town twinning
, its historical development, and its contemporary uses.
In the programme Dr Clarke States, “There are so many different town twinning relationships across the UK and each of them are different and when you get so many of them and they are so independent from one another you see some that you think are wonderful and you see some that you think are awful.”
Dr Clarke is currently completing research on the interurban partnerships of British cities. He is also developing research on the histories, geographies, and politics of localism.
